CEO & Partner
Teo Martinez graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Later he earned an executive MBA from Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management, where he was inducted as a Beta Gamma Sigma honoree. Teo began his career with Growing Generations in 1999, and is considered an authority in the field of surrogacy and egg donation administration, as well as cost analysis. As CEO, Teo oversees the Strategic Development of Growing Generations and is the executive officer in charge of customer care and satisfaction. Teo also sits on the executive board of Path2Parenthood as its Treasurer, and is Chair of the board of directors of the Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN). With his educational background, volunteer work and nearly two decades of experience in the industry, Martinez is one of the most knowledgeable and accomplished professionals in the field of surrogacy and egg donation.
President & Partner
Erica Horton graduated with honors from Central Washington University with a B.S. in Business. In 2003, she began her career at Growing Generations as a college intern. Erica's role in the company has expanded significantly since 2003, and now—as President—she oversees all departments that manage care for intended parents, surrogates and donors. Erica also serves on Family Equality Council's Board of Directors. She has two children: Gavin and Jack. Both boys were conceived with the help of an anonymous sperm donor. As a strong advocate for all families, Erica is passionate about helping people realize their dream of becoming parents.
Stuart Bell is the co-owner of Growing Generations, the largest surrogacy and egg donation company in the United States. Prior to joining Growing Generations, Stuart spent over a decade in executive level positions in both profit and not-for-profit companies. As a writer with a strong emphasis on gay rights issues, his work has appeared in numerous publications over the past 20 years. He is the author of Prayer Warriors, a memoir published in 1999 by Alyson publications. In February, 2008, Stuart and his husband welcomed their son into the world who was conceived through surrogacy and egg donation. He is active as a donor and volunteer with local and national organizations including Human Rights Campaign, Family Equality Council, LA Gay & Lesbian Center and Los Angeles Youth Network. He served for 10 years on the board of the American Fertility Association, 4 of those as co-chair. A native of Tennessee, Stuart holds a degree in Communications from Middle Tennessee State University, and has lived in Los Angeles since 1992.
Chief Customer Officer
Heidi joined the Growing Generations family in 2007 as part of the Client Services Team in the Ohio Valley office. Heidi’s role has grown while at GG and she currently serves as the Chief Customer Office of the company. Heidi oversees the Case Management, Surrogate Admissions and Egg Donor Admissions departments. Heidi attended Kent State University where she majored in Child Psychology. Heidi always knew she wanted to work with families and prior to coming to GG she spent years working in the Social Service field both in Residential Treatment as well as Early Intervention Services. Heidi values the opportunity to continue her commitment to helping create healthy families through her work at Growing Generations. Heidi is married to Tim and has one daughter, Zoey. Heidi enjoys time with her family, lounging by the pool, reading, and watching reruns of "Friends".
Dr. Kim Bergman
Kim Bergman, PhD, a licensed psychologist of 26 years, has specialized in the area of gay and lesbian parenting, parenting by choice and third party assisted reproduction for over two decades. Dr. Bergman has created a comprehensive psychological screening, support and monitoring process for Intended Parents, Surrogates and Donors. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American Psychological Association, the Los Angeles County Psychological Association, the Lesbian and Gay Psychotherapy Association, and the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association. She is on the national Emeritus board of the Family Equality Council. Dr. Bergman writes, teaches and speaks extensively on parenting by choice. Along with co-authors, she published “Gay Men Who Become Fathers via Surrogacy: The Transition to Parenthood” (Journal of GLBT Family Studies, April 2010). Dr. Bergman is the author of the upcoming book, Your Future Family: The Essential Guide to Assisted Reproduction (Conari Press 2019). Dr. Bergman created her own family using third party assisted reproduction and she lives with her wife of 35 years. Her two daughters are in college.
Director of Strategic Development
Vanessa is the Director of Strategic Development, having begun her career as an Administrative Coordinator and later working as a Client Services Coordinator. Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, she attended college in Boston. She received her bachelor's degree in 2004 from Emerson College and moved to Los Angeles that same year. Vanessa enjoys talking with surrogates, egg donors, and clients about this amazing journey, and she works to constantly improve the Growing Generations experience. This Los Angeles transplant spends her free time exploring Southern California with her rescue dog, volunteering with Angel City Pit Bulls, or playing kickball in an adult recreational league.
Director of Client Development
Erica joined Growing Generations as a Client Services Coordinator for the Client Services Department. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication and minor in Theatre from Ithaca College in 2008. She has a wide range of previous experience from hospitality service to assisting on grant proposals to provide broadband internet to rural regions in West Virginia. Erica enjoys musical theatre, antiquing, spending time with family and friends, singing in her car, and quoting the TV show FRIENDS.
Director of Admissions
Lisa joined Growing Generations in 2011 with 15 years of experience in the surrogacy community. In addition to her 15 years of professional surrogacy experience, Lisa has been a surrogate 3 times as well as an Egg Donor. In 1996 she gave birth to a baby boy for a couple in Connecticut, in 1998 she helped a couple add a baby girl to their family, and in 2002 she finished her surrogacy journeys with a baby boy for a couple in Maryland. "I will never forget the day my first surrogacy ended with the birth of my couples' son. The intended father was up at my head trying to be respectful and my husband, a Marine Gunnery Sergeant, reached across my stomach with his hand extended to the dad and said, "Come here dad, you only get one chance to see your son be born". It finally hit me then, what we were doing was much bigger than I ever imagined. It was then that I got involved in surrogacy full time. Lisa resides in Georgia with her husband of 20 years, John a retired Marine. She is a former Marine and has two sons John, 1, who is currently serving on active duty as a U.S Marine and Zachary, 18, a freshman in College. In her free time Lisa and her husband operate an all-volunteer Non-Profit dog rescue, saving dogs from High Kill shelters in her area.
Director of Innovation
Danielle is a graduate of West Liberty University with a background in Communications and Social Work. She joined the team at Growing Generations in 2013 to put her passion for helping others to work in a positive atmosphere. Her experience includes years of activism and involvement in the LGBT community, advocating for equality, and promoting acceptance of LGBT youth and families. When she isn't at work, Danielle enjoys spending time with her wife and their pups, running, gardening, and exploring new places around her city.
Sunnie is delighted to join the GG team! Sunnie has always been passionate about helping others and is an advocate for human rights. She also loves connecting with new people and hearing their amazing stories. Sunnie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from West Liberty University in 2012 and has an extensive background in customer service. In her free time Sunnie enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors. She is the mother of a busy two-year-old son who keeps her on her toes.
Heather joined the Growing Generations team in 2017 as an Admissions Specialist. She has an associate’s degree in Computer Programming and Web Design and 11 years of experience in management and customer service. She enjoys tackling new projects and is always looking for ways to create an even better experience for Growing Generation’s surrogates. In her free time, she dabbles in this-and-that, but doesn’t do much of anything.
Alisha happily joins the Growing Generations family as an Admissions Coordinator. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work with the concentration of Children, Youth, & Families from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Over the past 5 years, Alisha has worked in the social service field providing case management and therapeutic services with "at-risk" youth as well as foster children and their families. She is proud to be a part of a team that helps intended parents fulfill their dream of becoming a family. Alisha enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and two dogs. In her free time, you can often find her cooking, baking, outdoors, traveling, and making improvements to her home. She is passionate about animal rescue and is an active volunteer with a dog rescue organization.
Vice President of International Development
Jessica is the Growing Generations Vice President of International Development, she joined the Growing Generations Team in 2012. She was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain. Jessica has lived in several European countries, allowing her to feed her passion for travel and exploring different cultures. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French, and her native Catalan. While living in Barcelona, Jessica obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with High Honors in Law from the University of Barcelona. As an attorney, she specialized in state planning and civil litigation. She also completed a course in International Public Law at the prestigious The Hague Academy of International Law (Holland) and holds a master’s degree in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica (Los Angeles). Jessica moved to Los Angeles in 2000, where her professional background includes positions in the entertainment industry as VP of Creative Affairs at Menemsha Entertainment and, later, as VP of International Relations and Development at Bauhaus Entertainment. Jessica is a lover of food, even attending culinary school in Los Angeles. She is her absolute happiest when among friends in a great restaurant!
Director of Case Management
Lacey received her Bachelor's Degree in Specialized Studies with concentration areas of Social Work, Health, and Psychology from Ohio University and recently received her Master's Degree in Social Work. Lacey comes to Growing Generations with seven years of experience in the Social Services field, as well as experience in the Hospitality Field. Lacey has a strong desire to help enrich the lives of others. She enjoys relaxing in the sun, going for walks, and spending time with friends and family.
Jennifer is a Case Specialist in our Los Angeles office. She loves traveling, learning new languages, and exploring other cultures. Throughout her time with GG, Jennifer has learned something new every day and feels lucky to have the chance to help build happy families. In her spare time, Jennifer likes to spend time with her family, friends and pets, as well as watching reruns of Arrested Development. She tries to visit a new eatery every week, so feel free to discuss food recommendations with her anytime!
Craig M. Conley
Director of Finance & Operations
Craig is a graduate of Marshall University in West Virginia, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and son, watching and attending sporting events, golfing, snow skiing, playing ice hockey, cooking and relaxing with friends and family.
Stephanie joins the Growing Generations team as a Admissions Specialist in the Ohio Valley office. She comes to Growing Generations with a strong background in business and durable medical equipment with over 10 years experience in the field. Stephanie is an active member in her hometown, church and community and always looks forward to lending a helping hand. In her free time you can find her in the kitchen baking, kicking back watching movies, traveling, shopping and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Valerie happily joins the Growing Generations team as an Operations Coordinator. She brings to Growing Generations an extensive background in working with people and providing customer service. She joined Growing Generations to put her passion of helping people to work. Valerie feels blessed and honored to have the opportunity to play a role in helping others achieve their dreams of building a family. Being a single mother herself, she understands what it means to value and assist individuals and couples who want to have and raise children, regardless of sexual orientation or marital status. Valerie loves spending time with her teenage daughter. She is a foodie and enjoys cooking for her friends and family. She enjoys reading, music and loves to watch classic black and white movies.
Case Specialist - Asia
Michele was born and raised in Hong Kong. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Michele comes to Growing Generations with more than 5 years’ experience in the Hospitality Industry. She has a passion for travelling and exploring different cultures, she gained a memorable lifetime experience by living in different continental, such as Netherlands and Australia. She feels very lucky to be part of GG family that helps other parents to build their own families and deliver an experience that is treasured forever! In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, being active outdoors, exploring the city, listening to music, nature, gardening and spending quality time with friends and family.
Jennifer is excited to join the Growing Generations team and brings with her 4 years of experience in the administrative and customer service fields. She always looks forward to meeting new people and making new friends. In her free time, Jennifer loves being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading and listening to music.
Admissions and Marketing Specialist
Kelly joined Growing Generations in 2012 after three amazing surrogacy journeys with GG. In 2008 she gave birth to identical twin girls for a couple in northern California, in 2010 she carried twins again, giving birth to a baby boy and girl for a couple in southern California and in 2012 she gave birth to a baby boy for an Australian couple. Kelly is well known in the surrogacy community for her blog, I’m not the Mom, I’m just the stork! , where she tries to help educate the public about gestational surrogacy. Kelly is an advocate for Surrogates and has spoken both domestically and internationally. Kelly graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Health Science and a minor in Human Sexuality. She later received her teaching credential in Health and Psychology and her Masters of Arts in Education (with multi-cultural emphasis). She taught Health at the high school level before having her first child and then taught Human Sexuality at American River College for over a decade. Kelly resides in northern California with her wife Erin, her children Ruby, Preston and Sawyer and her stepson Charlie. Kelly loves spending time laughing and cuddling with her family and is lucky enough to still have relationships with all three of her Surrogate families. Kelly’s “Surrogates Deliver Dreams” keychain boasts her GG Surrogate baby numbers . . . 679, 680, 903, 904 and 1045.
Egg Donor Matching Specialist
Christa comes to Growing Generations with over 15 years in the social work field and was very excited to start a new career with Growing Generations. Christa graduated from West Liberty University in 1995 and was a licensed Social Worker in the stated of WV. She had worked with children, families and adults in various settings. Christa enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and grandson. She also loves her 2 dogs as if they were her children. Christa loves being outdoors(when it’s warm), spending time on her boat and traveling to new places. Her ultimate bucket list item is to travel to Africa to work with children affected by the AIDS virus. Her motto in life is live each day to the fullest because you never know when it may be your last.
Client Development Specialist
Kellie is absolutely delighted to join Growing Generations! In addition to an abundance of enthusiasm, she brings over a decade of customer service experience. She welcomes the opportunity to continue to provide customer service via being part of an amazing team which makes dreams come true each and every day! While she isn’t very musically inclined herself, enjoying a wide variety of music plays a central role in her life. When she’s not lost in a song, she spends her time with family and friends, watching and collecting obscure films, nurturing her love affair with chocolate chai and coffee, and indulging in her obsession with Doctor Who.
VIP Case Specialist
Marlon joins Growing Generations with a background in client services, relationship building, and project management in the nonprofit sector. He has had experience working in a healthcare environment, and is thrilled to bring that experience into the fertility field. He is very excited at the opportunity to help others improve their egg health and achieve their family-building goals. Marlon is fluent in both English and Spanish. In his spare time he bakes sweet and savory treats, enjoys tasting new foods and enjoys urban hikes and outdoor activities.
Caitlin obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Slippery Rock University, majoring in English Professional Writing and minoring in Communications. She has several years of experience working in customer service prior to joining Growing Generations. Caitlin is excited to be a part of the Growing Generations team and to help create families. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Caitlin loves to go fishing, attend NASCAR races and college football games, and watch Netflix.
Erin is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Growing Generations team! Erin graduated with an Associates in Accounting, and has over a decade of experience in customer service. In her spare time, Erin is an avid cook and crafter. She is always trying new recipes and experimenting with different tastes. She loves gathering family and friends around for celebrations of all kinds or even just a delicious meal. Erin also enjoys gardening and makes time to plant one every year. She has to admit that she is still learning how to be a good gardener! Overall, she simply enjoys things homemade: family, friends, food, and fun!
Dave is extremely happy and excited to be joining the Growing Generations family as a Finance Specialist. Dave is a graduate of West Liberty University in West Virginia where he received his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership & Administration. When he is not working, he enjoys watching his daughter play ice hockey and golf as well as helping his son in home improvement projects. Married for 17 years, Dave is devoted to his family and friends. His favorite type of movies are slapstick comedies.
Britny joins the Growing Generations team as a Finance Specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Ohio University Eastern in 2010. She has an extensive background in customer service and finance. She loves trying new things and enjoys making memories with her four year old daughter. Britny is delighted for the opportunity to help others grow families surrounded by love through Growing Generations and looks forward to all of the wonderful people she will meet along the way.
Katy is an Admissions Specialist who joined the Growing Generations team in 2018. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature from Wheeling Jesuit University in 2012. She has several years of experience in the hospitality field, as well as experience as an educator and administrator. She is passionate about helping people and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Katy enjoys spending time with her husband, as well as chasing her three kids. In her free time, she enjoys painting, drawing, watching movies with her kids, and baking.
Becki is truly thrilled to be joining the Growing Generations team after being a surrogate 3 times herself through GG. In 2014 she gave birth to fraternal twin boys for a couple in California, in 2017 she had twin boys again for a couple in Tennessee and in 2018 she gave the second set of twins a little sister. Surrogacy has been a passion for Becki for several years, and she is excited to help other women realize their dreams of helping to create families. In addition to her personal surrogacy journeys, Becki brings with her over 10 years of customer service and administrative experience in the healthcare field. In her free time, Becki enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 kids and their boxer Mia. She enjoys hiking, cooking, watching movies, singing in the car and quoting The Office.
Erin joined Growing Generations in 2019 as an Insurance Specialist. She has a Bachelor of Science from California State University, Sacramento and was a Division I basketball player. Erin is married to Kelly, who was a 3x surrogate with GG and works for them too! Before her marriage to Kelly, Erin started her family through IVF. Her son Charlie is now 14! Erin enjoys spending time with her kids, family and amazing dogs, Cricket and Todd, who each have their own Instagram. She also loves to cook as much as she possibly can.
